Inspired by Nature……

As a photographer, I am constantly inspired by the natural world around us. My journey into photography began when I first got a camera to take photos of our grandson. Over time, I found myself drawn to capturing the beauty of wildlife and nature.

There is something truly magical about being out in nature, observing and photographing the world around us. With my trusty Fuji camera gear by my side, I make a point to get out early and often, always looking for new and interesting subjects.

An invaluable part of the process involves planning trips, spotting potential subjects, and ensuring the adventures stay interesting. These efforts have led to exploring some of the most beautiful corners of the country, with a special focus on capturing the beauty of Louisiana’s public lands, including the WMAs, national wildlife refuges, and Kisatchie, our only national forest.

As a chef for over 30 years, I am used to working with a different kind of palette. However, I have found that the skills I have developed in the culinary world have translated surprisingly well to photography. I have a unique approach to color and composition, informed by years of plating up beautiful dishes and training under some of the best chefs in Louisiana.

While I love capturing the pure beauty of the natural world, I also have a secret love for abstract and composite work. I find that these techniques allow me to create truly unique and captivating images, bringing together different elements and textures in unexpected ways. I have been lucky enough to find a few passions in my life and Photography is the latest. With all the facets of this beautiful art I feel it will be with me for the remainder of my life!!!

Ultimately, my goal as a photographer is to create beautiful art that people can enjoy for a lifetime. Whether it's a stunning landscape photo, wildlife image or an abstract composite piece, I hope that my images inspire people to connect with the world around them and to see the beauty in everything.
